Hot Topics Clinic November 2019
World Diabetes Day – Free Hot Topics Diabetes Clinic!
There are a lot of conditions we see and problems we face in primary care which rarely appear in the literature and these will be our focus in the Hot Topics Clinics. This webinar will be a supplement to our main course and feature topics we have not presented on the main course.
Type 2 diabetes management has become increasingly complicated with an array of treatment options and often complex, multimorbidity patients to be managed in primary care. We have exciting emerging evidence from the newer treatment options in terms of cardiovascular and renal protection, but what does this actually mean for us in primary care? Many HCPs in primary care feel overwhelmed and deskilled in managing diabetes with confidence.
- When can I say type 2 diabetes is in remission?
- What next after metformin, does all of this new “exciting” evidence really change what I should do?
- How do I go about managing an older person with type 2 diabetes, when and how should I deprescribe?
In this diabetes themed clinic, we will consider three very different patients with type 2 diabetes and work through the current guidelines and evidence, as well as plenty of pragmatic advice and discussion around the management of type 2 diabetes in primary care. Join us for a great hour of diabetes themed, primary care relevant, CPD! You will be able to claim 1 CPD credit for attending this online webinar with a downloadable certificate provided.
This webinar originally aired on World Diabetes Day - 14th November 2019
