Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is entering a pivotal new era,  one that is transforming how we diagnose, treat, and ultimately prevent this condition. Yet, public understanding often lags behind the science.

In this session, Dr J Emer MacSweeney, Consultant Neuroradiologist, Principal Investigator in Clinical Trials, and CEO of Re:Cognition Health, will explore what patients and the public currently know and think about AD, and what they want from diagnosis and treatment today.

The discussion will chart the evolution of AD management, from traditional symptomatic therapies such as anticholinesterase inhibitors and memantine, to the latest generation of amyloid-targeted therapies (ATTs) now approved across multiple countries. Attendees will gain insights into how novel disease-modifying treatments in global clinical trials are shaping the future landscape, with mechanisms of action, access pathways, and clinical management considerations.

Alongside treatment advances, the session will highlight the critical role of biomarkers — imaging and blood-based — in enabling earlier, more accurate diagnosis, opening the door to timely intervention. Finally, Dr MacSweeney will offer a glimpse into prevention research and the next wave of clinical trials designed to change the trajectory of AD for future generations.

This session will provide clinicians with a clear understanding of where we are today, what patients expect, and how to navigate the rapidly evolving opportunities in Alzheimer’s care.

The webinar will be carried out as an evening session on Tuesday, 9th September 2025, starting at 8 pm and finishing at 9 pm.  Don’t worry if you miss something; all of the content will be available on demand.

You will be able to claim 1 hour of CPD credits for attending this online webinar, and a downloadable certificate will be available.

Brilliant in every way! I like attending live when I can, but the on demand service is great, to fit it in with a busy family life.
