Obesity, and particularly the new medications to manage it, are being talked about everywhere. As a GP, this can potentially feel like an area of medicine we haven’t been taught about at all and consultations can feel difficult. If we are soon to be asked to prescribe the medications, do you feel ready to do so? Probably not.

The updated NB Medical Guide to Managing Obesity and Overweight in Primary Care is a half-day, evidence-based course that will enable you to feel confident in having the discussions around obesity and you will learn about the rapidly evolving science of obesity medicine. We will learn about these new medications to manage obesity, in a way that is useful and practical for us in primary care.

We will discuss the importance of understanding obesity stigma and how it affects both our patients and the healthcare environment. We will look at obesity and overweight in children, adolescents and adults, including those who are neurodivergent and have learning disabilities.

Written and presented by NB presenter,  Dr Stephanie de Giorgio, who writes and presents widely on obesity, this half-day course will give you all the knowledge you will need to manage patients with obesity confidently and how to guide your patient in managing obesity, both with and without medication, through gaining an understanding of obesity medicine and the evidence-based approaches that are recommended.

The webinar will be carried out as a half-day session on Saturday 29th March 2025 starting at 9:30 am and finishing at 1 pm.  Don’t worry if you miss something, all of the content will be available on-demand.
